These easy muffins are full of antioxidant-packed raspberries and strawberries. Walnuts provide a welcome crunch and are a great source of monounsaturated fat, which research shows lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol.
Nonstick cooking spray
1 ½ cups whole-wheat flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 eggs, lightly beaten
¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
¼ cup agave syrup
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
1 cup fresh raspberries and/or halved strawberries
3 ounces 70% to 80% dark chocolate, chopped
⅓ cup chopped walnuts
